Neela Kurinji Honey is the Rarest and most exotic honey on planet Earth. It comes from bees that feed on the flowers of the Kurinji, Strobilanthes Kunthianus, which has the odd behavior of only flowering every 12 years. When it does, the blue-purple blooms cover the Nilgiris (translate to the Blue Mountains) and might be one reason they are called the blue mountains. Kurinji blossom season is celebrated as a festival in southern parts of the western ghats in India. The last bloom was in July 2018 and it was bliss to witness nature's miracle.
